So I'm planning on switching to an LED headlight system (I'm considering the Holley kit at this time but am certainly open to any suggestions if anybody has one that works particularly well), but my question today has to do with the wiring, namely:

- Should I turn off the "low beam" feed when in the high beam mode?

basically, what wiring concept are people using:

- Low Beam Mode - Just low beams on.
- High Beam Mode - Just high beams on.

Or

- Low Beam Mode - Just low beams on.
- High Beam Mode - both high and low beams on.

Any thoughts? I'm leaning toward the first (just high beams on) concept at present.

I swapped mine in without any changes to the wiring and low/high work just like before. Mine are just cheap 7" Jeep compatible from Amazon. At some point I will likely switch everything to LED and us these which look more normal.

I saw the Holley 7” lights at SEMA on Chip Foose’s truck. They’re very nice! I’m thinking of getting them.

I also did the H4 LED conversion on my Lucas Tri-bar PL700 headlights, required nothing other than plugging in the LED bulb. Light output is much better than the halogen bulb. The Tri-bar do have a nice vintage look to them. Any H4 light can accept these LED bulbs.

I'm not a big fan of the multi-LED look - like many of the jeep headlights. It doesn't look bad, just incongruous.

I took the bulb out of the housing to get the number off, and then ordered an LED replacement. Significant improvement with less power draw.

Love that paint job. The tri-bars do look good. Great combo, especially with LED brightness.

I swear breeze has a kit for everything.

Glad to hear that. The few videos and such I've watched seem to indicate they are a high quality part, but always a bit of a risk when you don't see them in real life.

I mean it depends on the look of your car. Mine is more modern so I went with the Trucklite series by Rigid Industries. Its a quality light but did take a little tweaking to fit right.

I spoke with an engineer from Morimoto and checked out the pattern... very nice!

Don't see an answer to your specific question. As designed the RF harness, if that's what you're using, powers either the low or high beam wires. There's a single headlight power wire and separate wires for the low and high beam feeds. Switching between low and high beam switches which feed wire is powered. My experience with several aftermarket headlight conversion kits along with two different electronic switching modules (American Autowire and Ididit) is the same. Either low or high are powered but not both. Can't say if this is 100% the case. But what I've experienced.

Thanks! I ditched the "pull style" headlight switch and am wiring everything from scratch using toggles so I could wire the system either way - thus the question. I think this makes it clear that the standard is one or the other - not having both elements lit at the same time.
