Hello all, I am reading some conflicting information.
I have a Gen 1 33 hotrod, disassembled the car for complete color change paint and now my drivers door sits out a bit at the top in the front.
I am reading conflicting process to bring that twist back in based on Gen 1 or Gen 2.
Is there a "built in" adjustment for the Gen 1 door with a bit of a twist?
Back of the door is good front is a bit out at the top.

It's very common to use washers as shims on the 2 bolts highlighted in the attached photo. By putting washers on one bolt vs the other in between the 2 metal pieces being joined, you can twist the front of the door. Putting washers on the top bolt should bring the top of the door in relative to the bottom if I remember correctly

Good luck

Perfect... thank you.
That's what I had read but someone else said I need to loosen the three bear claw latch bolts and twist... I can't get to those bolts without removing support to plates
Thanks again.

I tried the shim method first. The front lower part of my door was out by 3/8 inch and I added shims until the window bracket on the frame was forced into the door skin. The door was still out 3/16 inch. I posted my results on the Facebook page and a very smart man named Ken Pike told me about the door latch adjustment method. I really didn't think it would work but I had run out of things to try. I returned the door to its original state, loosened the bolts, and twisted the door while tightening the bolts. Boom!! The door was within 1/16 inch.

Thank you, I have a friend who insists on that method just didn't look like I can get to the three bear claw bolts in the door, still doing some buff and assembly so will try end of the week when I get back to town.
Thanks again.
