The manual gives instructions only for the manual steering rack (unless I’m blind), and there doesn’t appear to be a supplemental on the Factory Five Parts website. Have I missed something? TIA

my 2 cents
my kit came with a manual rack, my enging builder built my engine w a GM type PS pump, I added a Heidt valve system and purchased a PS rack from Mark at Breeze automotive. I ended up with a pretty good but not much road feedback system.
Mark Renalds was very helpfull in the in and out of the power steering conversion. may be a good contact for you.

Agreed, the manual is a little vague on PS install. Luckily, Karlos wrote a fantastic post on this a while back:

Don't know what engine you're using. There are two PS supplemental documents on the Factory Five instructions website https://www.factoryfiveparts.com/instructions/. May not apply to your build though.

But bottom line is (1) The rack installs exactly like the manual rack. (2) There are going to be a bunch of variations on the engine pump installation. Depends on the engine, what pump is used, etc. (3) Beyond that, just need to get the hoses installed, making sure to route properly including the connections at the rack. (4) The front end alignment is going to be different, which is addressed in the regular build manual.

I didn’t think those applied, unless the PS rack FFR provides is a Coyote part (which doesn’t make sense to me anyway, as “Coyote” is an engine..)
But fair point re variations.

The PS rack is not engine specific. All builds use the same version.

That was super helpful!
However, it appears the outer tie rods are too long; the rod ends stop screwing in before they’re roughly adjusted. (I just used a tape measure from the inner surface of the caliper to the 4” frame tube to get them straight, but I know that’s ultimately not correct.)
I can cut an inch or so off the end of the tie rods, and that should give me reasonable adjustment. Or is there a different preferred solution?
