I thought I would set the body on today....it didn't go on near as easy as it came off when the kit was delivered. :( For those that have gone before me, what should I look for? The weather strip that runs on both sides of the hatch opening...how thick is it? I had several in the boxes to choose from. How close or tight should the tail light holes be to the steel plates? How close should the body be to the frame where the door latch bolts attach? And finally the kit was delivered with two 5/16 screws fastening the door sill to the frame on each side are these accurate or just ball park?
Thank you for any and all answers. This is a genII coupe body.

Bob,
I didn't use any weather stripping on the sides of the hatch opening. It was just too tight to add any material. That being said, my carpet runs over the tubing that the body sits on. The gap between the body and tail light plats was about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. Between te body and frame at te door latch area, I had about 1/4 inch in drivers, slightly more on pass. The 5/16 screws were pretty close to my final mounting, but not exact. It is necessary to move it to help align the doors. Nothing fits perfect, as with all of the builds. Work with what you have and it will all come together. Lots of shimming to be done!

Ryan, Thank you! Your answer confirms what I was thinking, my weather strip is too thick around the hatch and my other measurements are close to yours. You did the final paint work with the body off the car, how nerve racking was it when it came time to mount it back on???

It was a lot nerve racking! It never seems to go on as well as it comes off.
