Thanks guys. Wow all i can say is it was a challenge to pick the color. At one point I'm pretty sure my wife was ready to divorce me or at least make me sleep on the couch. I wanted to stay more original but didn't want the darker blue color. Our 1st choice in blue was a Lexus silver blue and Wimbledon white. I'm lucky enough to live within a hour from San Marcos and have attended the Cobra Meet many times. Talked to a gentlemen last year with a roadster that we liked the blue color and he gave me info on it. I even emailed Jeff K asking for his option, Thanks Jeff. It is not Purple and Orange but a Corvette Silver Blue (912) and Dover White. Still waiting on the drivetrain, but figured i had to get the car in for body and paint when there was an opening. Once i get it back home I'll have a few good weeks just putting everything assembled back together.
More to come. Doug

This is where it gets really exciting because your going to be putting stuff on for the last time and every time you work on it, its going to be just that bit more complete.
PS your rear tires need some steroids!;)

Hey John, totally agree. wimpy for sure. They are CRV rims and tires i picked up for cheap just for the finish of the build and for the body and paint. No way they were going to get my finished rims and tires.
So ready for the final assy of boxes of parts i still have. looking at what i started with (delivery day) to what i have now is amazing.

The car looks great. My son and I came by and I sat in your build about 10 months ago. (I'm 6'5" and needed to see if I fit.) Thank you again for that. I've got my build going now. Keep it up and hopefully we will see each other down the road at a Texas Cobra Club meeting someday.

Doug,
As you mentionned in my thread, both our cars might look alike.
Just wondering if the white stripes and « halfback » are painted or decalcs on yours?
On mine it’s going to be decalcs for anything white.
And what about side pipes? Color?

I had the white stripes and 1/2 back painted on. All of the rest.. numbers, and decal are from Receline. I went with the Sebring kit. If the time ever comes that i wanted to see the coupe the decals could be removed for the new owners. Pipes and wheels are white. working from the back to the front, putting everything back on and together i hope for the last time. here i pic of the rear complete. (decal are waiting for another month or so, just to let the paint cure). Doug
What the time line for yours to be back home from the painters?

She's beautiful! That's pretty much the same combo I want on my coupe. I think I might leave the stripes off and use vinyl wrap so I can change it periodically as my taste/likes shift over the years of ownership.

Good question! With all I’ve been through up to now since I sent my Daytona to the paint shop I prefer to enjoy seeing things going in the right direction instead of aiming for a potential date…
And please bear in mind that I have to get this thing through homologation by our DMV here…Not a fun thing from what I heard…So stay tuned…without holding your breath though!

Good luck. keep us updated on the progress and the DMV. In the same boat for potential date for me as well on the drivetrain. Doug
