Hey Folks,
I've never been up close to look at a window net setup but I'd like to get them for my Coupe as I track it a lot.
Any suggestions as to the mounting type to go with?
I'm ok with some light welding and I am running opening/closing doors on my car if that matters.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
I think you need a window net with straps on the bottom for a door car. You will need to weld hardware to your frame for the top mount. You can tie the bottom straps to the frame rail below the door. If you aren’t using the door sliding into the window hole NASCAR style then you need to weld a cross bar just below the top of the door. Link below is one of many products available.
Curious why you want the net? Are you racing wheel to wheel or running HPDE? If your worried about debris from the track racing a net makes sense. If your concerned about your hands and arms getting out of the car just get a set of arm restraints. Link below.

Hi Rich,
No wheel-to-wheel but I was looking for way to run 1/4, 1/2 mile, autocross and HPDE without having to worry about the ability of being extricated from the car in a case of a crash. Some events run 'windows up' and some run 'windows down'.
I do have arm restraints but I just set up both of my doors with external door button-releases- I will not pursue the window nets.

I'm interested in the external door release buttons. Could you explain, or show pics?

The existing door latch mechanisms have two cable anchor points- one is being used by the inside door handle cable (and is pulled towards the front of the car). The other opens the latch if pulled or pushed downward.
I used a steel 1/2" right angle bracket (like you'd use to reinforce a wooden picture frame) and a bolt/nut to make this second anchor point activated by pushing down on it.
Then a piece of 3/16" all-thread and two nuts secure the 'plunger' to this angle bracket (one nut on each side of the bracket). The nuts can be used to adjust the height of the all-thread.
The button is a piece of 1" diameter plastic rod, drilled and tapped then spun in a drill and sanded to round the top edge.
I used a 1" hole saw to drill the door.
The only step that was done with the fiberglass door removed was to mount the angle bracket. The rest can all be assembled/adjusted with the door back on.
It's a simple solution that works for me. The button is in line with my side rearview mirrors and sort of 'fits'. I thought about making a bezel around the hole in the door- maybe eventually.

There is nothing on the inside of the door to support the button, nor the all-thread. The whole mechanism is sufficiently stiff enough to work very well as shown in the video.

That's awesome! I have wondered about door opening buttons for my Coupe, but most are electronic. This mechanical one is pretty clever.
