My MkIV roadster is scheduled for a March 5 build date. It's been a long wait since I ordered the kit in October. I have the Gen 3 coyote and 6 speed transmission ready to go. I also received my control pack for the engine last week. I've been killing time waiting for the roadster by vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, we are scheduled to return on the build date. Then it's just a short wait for Stewart Transportation to deliver.

Wait a minute.... how did you get a build date of March 5 and ordered in October? I ordered early September and have a build date of March 11. Who do you know??? We'll be building at the same time.

Yes, it is not the easiest thing to do. Here is link to the how: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?1420-How-to-post-pictures

Basically, you have to upload them to a file here, then download them to your post. Use the buttons above. Click on the button 3rd from the right. Then click "from computer", then click "Choose files" then click"Upload files". That'll get you a small picture like this:

PM David Hodgekins, tell him you've plunked down money for a kit, and he'll change your status to allow you post. Otherwise it'll take a certain number of posts before you're upgraded. And welcome! I would certainly encourage a build thread, it's a great way to document progress and share both problems and fresh ideas with other builders on the forum. Everyone's got something to contribute, I figure. Your delivery date is coming up soon ... exciting stuff, take the obligatory photo or two and exercise your posting powers!

Wow, must have been a lot of purchases in September to be 2 months further out and ordering less than a month from mine.

Well the day has come, my MKIV is built sitting on the rack awaiting delivery. I would have posted a picture, but I still haven't got my permissions thing taken care of so that I can post pics. I PM'd David Hodgekins to see if he can straighten that out, but haven't heard back. I will start posting pics when this is fixed.

You need 20 posts to allow pictures. I am commenting away on others to get my number up. LOL

Also, Congratulations on your delivery. Ours kit is complete March 19 but I am traveling and will not be home until early April. I almost canceled the trip to get it delivered sooner!

Car arrived yesterday at 9 am. Got everything unloaded and moved into the shop. My wife and I spent 6 hours yesterday and 4 hours this morning taking inventory. I have 56 items on my POL. Too bad some of the stuff is needed right away for suspension build. Plenty to do so I'll work around it.

Sounds about right on the POL, anything missing?

A lot of small items and some major things. Pedal box and two Master cylinders , some bushings for rear axle, some metric bolts for front suspension, fuel tank, Derlin washers for front coil overs, wheels fuel tank and fuel filer neck. A lotto stuff needed at the beginning of the build, but I am working around it. I'm doing the panel fitting and drilling for the pop rivets. Have several panels fit and coated. I am going with black rustoleum bed liner spray, I really like the look for the textured look of the bed liner material with the contrast of the pop rivets.

I ran into a problem with the bolts they sent for bolting the tie rod end links to the spindles. The parts list has 1/2"-13 bolts, but the pictures in the assembly manual show button head bolts, probably for clearance with the front bearing hubs. What I got was some M12-1.75 x 30 mm 12 point bolts. they are the right size for the holes in the spindles but are too short and I don't think the heads are going to clear the hubs. Rather than trying to sort it out with FF, I decided to order the correct bolts from McMaster-Carr ( m12-1.75 x 50mm). They evidently have a problem with the right size bolt for the application. The manual doesn't give a size or description for the bolts. The picture is definitely a button head bolt, but the holes in the spindle are not big enough for 1/2" bolts.
