Just curious, I am working with a forum member on a proposal to upgrade his car from a 4.6L DOHC/TR-3650 drivetrain to a 3rd Gen Coyote/TRX combo. The plan is to remove the engine, trans, computer, support electronics, and harness carefully and put it on a pallet for resale. The harness was professionally wire dieted by Art at Wirediet. It is set up for the 2004 Mustang ABS unit too. The engine will have about 50K total miles at the time it is removed. The car was chassis dynoed showing 299 HP and 320 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels. Nothing wrong with the drivetrain other than the owner wants more power and the Coyote upgrade.
Anyone have a suggestion as to the value for all described?

Being a DOHC does that make it a Cobra motor? If so, I would try selling it on one of the Mustang sites for FB marketplace. I replace a 2-valve motor with a Coyote and couldn't give the engine away.

Mike:
The engine is from a 2004 Mach 1. Same as the earlier "Cobra" motors but with coil on plug, no distributors.

Sadly, I don't think the resale will be great. Even though the architecture of the Mod motors and Coyote are very similar, it's just a no brainier when comparing the two - as you have found out. But the good news is there should be some interest by people looking to get up an running quickly. Being that you have a turnkey package I'd start out around $3K-$3.5K and see where it goes. I'd post it right here on the for sale section and in the Factory Five facebook groups.
