Nothing has been put in permanent yet, but here's a pic of the seat and the seatbelts coming through from the trunk area. The seat is not installed but I've got it all the way towards the tranny tunnel and the seatbelts are slightly offset. Am I missing something here or is everything as it should be? I even swapped the seats out but I think they're pretty much identical.

That looks about the same as mine with the right passenger belt pretty much in line with the center of the seat back.

Like so many things with these cars…they’re all like that.

Not sure if you've tried positioning the seats parallel to the angle of the transmission tunnel. This will slightly pivot the back of the seat towards the middle of the back cockpit wall. I don't notice the seat angle when driving.

I know you already have the carpet installed but, if that were mine, I'd widen the inner slot all the way over to the outer slot so I could move that belt to a better position.

This could create an angle in the line of pull on the belt. Probably not a good thing.

Not sure it can go any further over anyway, if you look at the trunk side wall the bar the belts loop over ties to the end of that trunk wall. Following the angle it looks like the belt is all the way to the edge of the bar already

It has been quite a while since I looked at the trunk side of that mount. If it can't go any further, then it can't go any further, but I'd not be real happy w/ it as is. Looks to me like the belt over the passenger's left shoulder could easily slip off.

On another car forum someone mentioned that the individual should belts should be crossed over each other before they are attached to their mount. I had never seen this before but thought is a great idea to help keep them slipping of a shoulder. I found this recommended only on the Schroth web site. Scroll to page 4.

I don't know how this might work in the current FFR but thought it might be helpful info. Simpson had a silly simple diagram. Impact, G-Force, and another brand had no info.

There is a lot that's suboptimal about the harness arrangement in the roadster. From the offset spacing side-to-side, the fact that the shoulder harness anchor points are lower than the shoulders, to the fact that none of the stock seats have a hole or anchor point for the sub strap... on and on. Clearly the harness setup is better than nothing, but far from an ideal setup from a safety standpoint. All the issues are addressable but will affect aesthetics to one degree or another (different seat, different mounting location for shoulder harnesses, etc.). In the end, unless it's going to be a track-specific car we typically accept some amount of sub-optimality.
