Hi all,
Does anyone know what type of shaft the FFR setup comes with?

I need to change my wheel over to a motolita, but I can't figure out what type of fitting the FFR shaft is in order to get an adaptor.

I guess I could make an adaptor to fit the FFR hub and fit the Motolita, but buying a proper boss would be a quicker option,

thanks
Phil

I think the steering wheel hub is a custom FFR piece, any aftermarket wheel mount will be for some car, like a Mustang or something, you'd lose the smooth finished hub you get from FFR.

I have a Gen 2 Type 65 Coupe. FFR supplied a steering hub that fits a 3/4"D-D shaft that has a steering wheel bolt pattern that is drilled and tapped for a Moto-Lita AC Cobra Rim (AC Cobra Leather Rim OEM - Moto-Lita (https://www.moto-lita.co.uk/steering-wheels/ac-cobra-leather-rim-oem/)). This particular steering wheel DOES NOT have the same bolt pattern as the Moto-Lita Lacarra 6 hole bolt pattern.
With respect to my build, I installed a 16" Ididit "Shorty" Tilt steering column. Ididit does not make a steering wheel adaptor for the Moto-Lita AC Cobra Rim bolt pattern. I did find a 9 Bolt GM Leather Wrapped steering wheel that is a good substitute for the 6 bolt steering wheel. It is a Volante S9 Series Steering wheel that is available on Amazon (Amazon.com: Volante S9 Series Steering Wheel, 9 Bolt with Premium Leather Grip (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWQN1P2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)).

I found the NRG SRK-174H hub that was a perfect direct fit to the FFR (Double-D) steering shaft.

https://getnrg.com/products/srk-174h

I bought it because I wanted a quick-release in mine, but from there you can probably also find an adapter (maybe something like https://getnrg.com/products/srk-500)

The earliest Factory Five kit shipped with Moto-Lita steering wheels. It was somewhere in the Mk3 run (I believe) that F5R began shipping steering wheel with their own logo engraved in the back. There are a number of online companies that sell Moto-Lita steering wheels with the proper bolt pattern to fit the F5R hub, including ebay sellers.

Alpha - do you have a picture of this part in use in your steering setup? Does it replace the FFR Steering Boss?
