Painting headlight lens inside or outside??

on the 818s with the facelift, new nose, is it best to paint the black outline on the inside or the outside of the plastic lens? Not sure what would look the best, manual appears on the outside. Also, any input on prepping the surface and method for masking.

I painted the inside. I put it in place and sharpied where the fiberglass was, then taped as close to the sharpie as posible. I used an exacting knife to make all the corners cleaner too. Surface prep was 600g. Make sure your painted area is wide enough for the trim tape if that’s what your gonna use.

Yeah on the outside it could also chip and scratch.
