While the bulk of our 2022 show and event plan (https://www.factoryfive.com/event-schedule/) is unchanged, we have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our annual Huntington Beach Cruise-in, scheduled for this April 30, 2022.
I met with the town of Huntington Beach last week to review the plan for this year’s cruise-in. The town has apportioned a large section of Main street for local restaurant outdoor dining (due to COVID precautions) and they have no intentions of changing this layout before our Cruise-in. The effect is that the show would be split in two, or we would have to use the lower parking lot on the beach side of PCH. Either way, the show would not be what we are accustomed to, and a huge part of the fun value of the show would be missing.
Since we have canceled the show now four times (!) due to COVID delays, I made the personal decision not to reschedule the event further.
On behalf of everyone at Factory Five Racing, I want to offer my sincere apologies for this cancellation and hope that the future skies clear, and we can have this great show at some point in the future.

Well there goes my major social event of the year.
It may turn out that THIS FORUM sponsored the last HB show. For all of the membership that contributed to that show, thanks again.

Too bad we can’t have something similar but in a less “restrictive“ state like here in Florida. Maybe Daytona Beach? Or Tampa? It’s also gorgeous on the beaches of the panhandle. :D

With that date opened up in the FFR schedule, maybe you could work out a spring cruise-in in Texas! It's half the distance to HB, so you'd save $$ in transportation costs  and we don't have those silly california-esque restrictions.
Full disclosure: the Galveston Island surf scene isn't like SoCal.

I understand that the Huntington Beach 2022 show has been canceled and there are no plans to attempt to reschedule to a later date. I would like to suggest that everyone who has already paid the entry fee contact FFR and donate their entry to "Team Jenny" (the Cystic Fibrous Society)
Thanks,
Ray

This was to be a promotional event for FFR and entertainment for their customers. Huntington Beach Government is expected to do what is best for their population and businesses.
If nothing else the local Government does not want to arouse disappointment or anger in the local residents. Besides the interruption of business, if pandemic numbers became worse, Government would be held accountable.

This really stinks for you guys out on there on the West Coast because I've always heard it was a Very Special Event!
Personally, I'd bet money that the folks down in Mississippi, the group that puts on Cruising The Coast, would love to see Factory-5 there this fall.
To all of you, please consider making plans to attend the 26th Annual Cruising The Coast Block Party which is always the 1st week of October.
Every city along the Mississippi Gulf Coast participates so it is like Mardi Gras, only with tons of classic cars, customs, and other vintage vehicles.

Y'all Come Down This Fall If You Can Find The Time & Don't Mind Driving Here!
NOTE:..No Masks Are Required Unless You Choose To Wear Them!

Disappointed, as this was to be THE year to drive to the HB event - assuming covid did not affect any plans... but really understand why Dave cancelled!
My granddaughter and I had been talking about a coast-to-coast drive, as by then she will have her driver license. BUT adjustment can be made. We may still take that trip but now places like Hollywood, San Francisco, Route 66 and a visit with some old friends at St Gregory's Abbey have entered the discussions. You can see her choices vs mine! :D
Hoping to have one more last "on the road again trip"!
Come to Canada too for an event for us Canadian fans :)

So, after doing the "Stooges Across America", what title would this be? Laurel and Hardy? :)
Nice to see us ageless wonders still at it.

The city of Huntington Beach is now dead to me. But I will still cruise. I'm thinking I will reroute and trek to Las Vegas in my MK4 with my brother. Las Vegas never disappoints!

An event on the west coast of Michigan in July would be awesome! Great roads and centrally located.
