I'm building a Gen 3 Type 65 using a donor 302, stroked to 347. Before I get too far into rebuilding the motor, I want to make sure the oil pan isn't too deep. I can't find any identification on the existing pan itself, but it seems to be a deep sump style. Rear sump is approx 9", front is approx 6.25"-ish. Both measured from the bottom of the block. Will this work, or do I need to look for a stock OEM pan? Thank you.

Here is a link that you may find of some use:

I think you'll want a rear sump Pro-Touring style pan that is fully baffled and includes extra capacity.

Good Luck!

9" is way too deep. You need something 7.5' or less like one of my pans.

and it has to be a rear sump to fit in the Gen 3 frame
