After finally deciding to purchase one of Mr. Bruce's Lemans Hardtops (in raw fiberglass), I took delivery this morning, uncrated it, and set it on the car. My MK2 is fully caged so I had some sweatballs about it fitting, but it's good to go. It'll take some massaging to get the fit and finish right, but I am pleased with the purchase. :)

Looks great! Got any more pics? Did it come with "glass"? How's the blind spot? It looks like it has "glass" in the rear quarter?
Can you divulge the cost?

Bob I am interested to see how much that increases (or decreases) your top speed on track. I've been thinking about a top rather than the shorty windshields.

No glass in the rear quarter, yes it's a blind spot, but with a tall passenger seat and a HANS you got to have a good mirror setup anyway. The weight is about 30-35 pounds without the rear glass. I'll go to a polycarb windscreen to offset the weight. Eyeballing it, I figure I can lower the rear of the top about 1.5". I'll glass in the fuel filler cap recess. Since the fuel filler for the cell is inside the trunk, I'll need to split the trunk lid. I got a discount from Bruce because this top has some worts (blems). To date, his regular starting price is 1.5k.
Without the windscreen, using a spec-type fairing TraqMate data showed a pickup of 5mph at the end of the back straight at Sebring. I'm hoping to get a couple more free MPH with the top.

I've finished trimming and mounting the Lemans Hardtop. I fabricated a template out of acrylic for the rear glass as shown in the photo below and will trace that onto a sheet of tinted Lexan for the final product. Next stop is at the body and paint guys.:)

Bob - Your car looks awesome and the hardtop really gives it even more distinction. What ride height are you set at front/rear?

Hi Chris,
At this time, ride height is approx. 2.5/3.7 F/R.
