OK, I know this horse has been beaten to within an inch of its life, but my question regarding the angle is the actual degree angle of the side post taken on the front or the back side when in place. The reason I need that measurement is because my windshield, with the Lodestone quick release, was at too much of a rearward angle even though I thought I installed per the directions. Now I'm not real tall, just 5'9", but I found myself looking through the top edge of the windshield. I want to bring the windshield more upright, but I'd also like to have it where it is "supposed" to be. The problem, the body is up at Street Rod Painter, Ken's, so I don't have that to reference the measurement back to the top of the rear of the door. If I can adjust it, I can send the measurements for the changes to Ken so he can make adjustments to the slots.

If anyone has the time and can take this degree measurement for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Have a bunch of items that I need to correct before the body is painted, and I take the go-kart back to put the body back on.

Thanks

I have a Whitby soft top and the windshield angle is set as per their instructions as a distance from the body at the back of the door opening to the top of the windshield frame. I can't remember the distance and am too lazy to search for the instructions but, the resultant angle between the back edge of the windshield frame and the cowl/door is 49 degrees.

Norm I think it was 27.25 from the corner of the rear door opening to the center of the top screw on the windshield. Anytime I install one I never check the angle. I just mark the holes on the windshield bars where they land with the windshield all the way down. Then I just center both marks on the arm and drill. Comes out perfect every time.

Mike, 27 & 1/4 sounds correct. That's the number that pops into my slightly aged and pickled brain when I think about the top installation instructions. Wasn't sure exactly sure what it pertained too though.

Norm, that's the number I was looking for. Thanks.

Mike, if I could go back to when I first mounted this thing that's exactly what I would do. Of course, I could say that about everything that I've done!

That is exactly how I have done all mine. I don't measure no stinking angles.;)
The money, time and frustration for the quick release windshield bracket, think it's worth it, buy again?

I’ve never measured the angle, I just always do this:

160478

160479

Like I said guys, I don't have the body. The other issue is how I mounted my heater core. Different than others, and it blocks the ability to tighten the bolts in a normal windshield install. On the other hand, creating a small access to reach up and pull a pin to release the windshield was quite easy. Piece of cake to install or remove. I just had a brain fart when I set it up regarding the angle and sloped it back too far. Would I buy the Lodestone quick release brackets again, yes, I would. I'd just do the install differently now that I know the problems that angling the windshield back too much can create. From the responses that I'm getting, I'm figuring it should be between 45 and 49 degrees. I know it's way less than that from when I checked it a while back. Thanks.

I have the Lodestone quick release and mine is back too far also, I used their instructions also which said get their aluminum brackets parallel to the edge of the FFR chassis plate that they bolt to. I ended up with 41 degrees, should be around 45 degrees measured using the top of the transmission tunnel framing as reference.

Exactly what I did when I installed mine. If I'm not mistaken, that's about where mine ended up. I'll find out tomorrow. See you Thursday morning.
