Hi all,
I am about to fit the body and I can't figure out which panels need to be left off in order to fit it?

I have fitted all the internal and boot panels, but I have a feeling I should have left the taller panels (just behind the seats) off?

Any info on what is easiest would be great!

thanks
Phil

Yes. You should leave them off. Really hard to get the body on other wise.

Unlike the previous Roadster builds I have done, the Gen 3 Coupe has aluminum panel installation at multiple points during the build. Spread throughout the build manual. During Gen 3 Coupe my build, I searched the manual and listed each instance where aluminum panels are installed. The list below is a cut and paste from my build notes after the body is installed, per the manual. The first item is the one you asked about. Your experience may vary. I've seen some builders successfully install some of these without the body. But I pretty much followed the manual's sequence.

Hatch side aluminum (with bulb seal) lower flange goes under the floor aluminum, side panel touches the side of the floor
Firewall extension (with bulb seal)
Inner firewall extension (with bulb seal)
Cockpit outside corners (with bulb seal)
Outside nose mount cover
Inside shock tower cover
Hatch area rear wall (with bulb seal)
Aluminum Splash guards Front wheel, rear inside
Front wheel rear lower
Front upper splash panels (with bulb seal)
Rear wheel splash panels rear (with bulb seal)
Rear wheel splash panels front (with bulb seal)

Thanks for the replies, I struggled to work it out from the manual.

I did the same as edwardb with searching the manual for any mention of panels. I have found all but the two small pieces that are bent on each side with four holes in them. Does anyone know what and where these are for. Can’t find any information on them in manual unless I just missed that page. They have part number 60797 or 60747 hard to see if that is a 9 or a 4.

(2)ea 60797 upper rear splash support from box 6. They’re really small.
