Has anyone heard an update on the availability of the forward shift kit mentioned in the installation documentation for the TKX? I had called a few Tremec dealers last spring and they said they were told it would be released in the Summer of 2021 but it never happened. I am not talking about the flipped position of the shifter as it is shipped but the separate kit that is required to move it to the most forward position. My roadster kit will be delivered this summer and I am planning on a Coyote/TKX and would like the shifter to be in the forward position.

I emailed Tremec on 1/7/2022 and got this response:
The release date is still pending. Once it is released we will list it on our websites and with our dealers.

Thanks for the answer! I have emailed them a few times and never heard back so I am glad you got a response. It would be nice if they gave some idea, it can't be rocket science compared to the transmission itself. I am putting off a TKX purchase until it is released.

I have spoken with Mike Forte a couple time this fall/winter and every time he has talked with Tremec they tell him they will have part numbers in a few weeks. Unfortunately, they have been telling him that since September.

Surprising the T56 magnum forward shift bases dont fit on this, for several reasons including that they look to be exactly the same and Tremec said they borrowed the T56 mag rail architecture to design the TKX. Youd think this would be pretty easy to design at that point if they actually intend to design it.

You've heard of manufacturer and supply issues? There's this sh-t going around, called COVID. Affected the whole world
Best of luck dealing with Tremec. To say that they are less than forthcoming with any usable information would be an understatement. I ordered a TKX that mates up with a 427 Block in July ‘21. Called them about 2 weeks ago and they refused to give me even a remote idea as to when my tranny might be ready. I found one elsewhere after a little internet digging.
Heluva way to run a business.

Yeah, I have heard about that Covid thing. It's the reason I have only physically been to desk in my office 4 times since Mar 2020 even though I only live 15 minutes away. My commute is now about 3 minutes and that includes a coffee stop in my kitchen :)

Yeah, I have heard that from a ton of people including Mike Forte himself. That's why I will be buying the transmission from him. I just didn't want to bug him since he answers his phone even when he is in the grocery store. I figured he is busy enough without me calling him monthly to get an update. I have emailed Tremec on multiple occasions without a single response.

Wondering if this is something that a company like Lokar could help out with.

When put my first car on the road in August of '04 I wanted the mid-shift for the TKO-600. The TKO series of transmission had been introduced that spring. Tremec hadn't introduced the mid-shift yet, D&D Transmissions in Novi, MI had no options.
A friend built the adapter plate to mount the shift tower, been using it ever since and will continue to do so. Only change from the original build was to make a new stubby shift lever from a 1" rod of aluminum.
I would think that an adapter plate could be fabricated for the TKX. Not sure what's different between the TKO & TKX but it's possible that my adapter plate would work. It's not "rocket science".

Sure, there a several that make or market as their own a shift kit for the furthest forward location for a T56/TR6060 and this according to tremec is the same idea as far as the shift rail design. Bowler, core shifters, SST, Hanlon, etc.
