Last night I took my wife out on the first go kart!
It was amazing. I've used this group a ton for reading and finding out how to make things with, and sincerely appreciate it.

Overall, it was a great run! The car shifted like a dream, and growled beautifully and showed no leaks.

It's not without issues
My water temperature reads 150 as soon as I turn the car on, and then almost instantly jumps to max, the radiator fan never kicked on, the oil temp shows 0, and the odometer doesn't register. And my steering column barely rubs against the PS pump pulley when the engine is running and I'm turning hard (I need a shorter belt I'm guessing).

Other than that, it's great!

The body is finishing up at the paint shop.
Black and gray stripes when it's done.

Body looks great! Isn’t it a thrill to take that first go kart drive? Check your wiring and grounds again.

Congrats on the successful go cart. It is exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time.

Love the black.

Thank you!
I fixed the oil temp, and the PS pump hitting the steering.

However, I tried two different water temp senders. 2 of 3 show the starting temp at 150, and the 3rd shows the temp correctly.

That's pretty weird, I gotta say. 1/3 makes more sense.

Congrats on first go cart. What gauges are you using? If single wire gauges, grounding crucial for proper operation..

Single wires going to Autometer Ultralites.

They ground through the block, and I get continuity from the ground on the sender, to the back of the gauge. The ground is working. I just don't know why the senders have weird starting points.
The third sender that is the correct temperature reading at the start is the wrong size for my water temp spot on the block, so I can't use that one.
