I'm messing around with the tilt back angle in the car. Flat on the floor seems too upright for my taste.
What is your seat angle set at, and how did you arrive at it?

I did flat to the floor and as far back and upright as possible to get the most leg room. Hopefully your legs are shorter and you'll have tilt options. Try sitting in it with some spacers to find the position & tilt angle best for you. We're all different . . . . . . that's a good thing.

Hi Pete!
I'm one of the blessed ones that does not have a length constraint on my legs. I started with the Street Performers, and I had them tilted back by 3 inches. I think the Kirkeys will end up less tilted, but I am going to absolutely do some testing.

I have mine flat on the floor and against the rear bulkhead and it works the best for me. I have tried them with up to 1.5" of spacers under the front to tilt the seat back but didn't find it as comfortable as flat. I bolted mine directly through the seat to the steel in the floor and also to the steel in the bulkhead as I wanted a very solid mount for auto x but if you use the side mounts it should be easy to try multiple angles and positions.

From my experience w/ a few seats. Work out a way to get the seat close but allow movement fore and aft and also tilt. And drive each setup for a couple weeks. You can also play around w/ foam under the the bottom cushion. For instance foam under your butt only, w/ none under your thighs, makes the seat into an effectively higher seatback angle. I changed mine (Ultrashield) from a 20 degree (10 and 20 degree can be ordered) to what seems to be maybe a 25 degrees.HTH

Mine are raised in the front one inch. With the seat all the way back I reach the pedals perfectly. I'm 5' 10". They are very comfortable but if you're driving for a couple of hours I've discovered some extra foam on the bottom helps with the flat butt syndrome.

Good thoughts all. I need to keep in mind that "all is changable" if I don't like it. The current setup that I've messed with over the course of the last few nights has settled at 1 1/2" rise in the front, no rise in the back. The seat is on a Sparco double-locking, very flat slider setup (thanks Tony-UrQ-FFRSpec72). With that setup, my level eyesight is about 2/3rds the way up to the top of the windshield. Seat feels comfortable at that angle for me.
I think I will use your idea CraigS of running for a few weeks, adjust angle, re-test, etc.
Thanks again. Keep 'em coming!
