Howdy -

Just bought a MKII yesterday. The car came with racing seats in it, which not only are not at all to my taste aesthetically, but they also crush my fat ***.

Looking at the FFR vinyl buckets, which obviously just look way more "right" for the car.

But the FFR website does not give dimensions or more than just one pic. Anybody know the dimensions, and I'm assuming (hoping) they are a little more roomy than these ridiculously body-hugging racing seats?

THANKS!

I found these at Summit Racing and the "Most Similar" looks pretty much like the seats offered by Factory Five Racing:

Might Work #1:

Might Work #2:

Might Work #3:

Could any of these work?

Good Luck!

I live Albany, NY. My Roadster has FFR's vinyl seats. I'm 6' tall and about 170. I have the driver's seat installed with no space behind the back and rear wall. It fits me fine like this. I don't where you are, but if you PM me you're welcome to visit and see how they fit.

Bill if you deside to go w/ FFR seats be aware that they have standard and big/tall versions. Mostly the big/tall ones have thinner cushions to get you a little lower and maybe a little further from the steering wheel.

I'd be interested in those Cobra seats when you find replacements. Sending a PM as well.

Actually not any longer. They only sell what used to be the big and tall version. It's now the standard Roadster seat and the only one they sell. In vinyl (#16325) or leather (#16212). Made that change a couple years ago.

Thanks for this! I found a YouTube video from about 5-6 years ago, in which a guy from FFR shows and explains the different types of seats they have, and he explained the "big and tall guy" seats, and I immediately thought "There we go! That's for me!". I couldn't find them on the FFR website, so I called, but as we all know, they are slammed and understaffed right now, so I also sent an email, inquiring about them, but haven't gotten any response yet.

So sounds like I need to just place an order for those seats on the website! Thanks.

I installed a set of Kirkey low-backs in my MKII several years ago. They are a great seat.

Here's a link to the install thread. Scott

I've been looking at these seats s well, vs. FF's vintage seats. How do you like them?

We'll, fiddlesticks. I have the FFR vinyl seats in my MK4 from about 2011. I've been wanting to replace them with FFR leather seats. I like the size and comfort of my current vinyl seats.

If I order the leather seats from FFR, your saying they will be different in size, fit, and possibly comfort for me?

As a smaller guy, I'd prefer padding and comfort than any extra room.

I couldn't find any dimensions on the website either. A drawing of the new seats would have been very helpful.

Hmm...

They are all the “big & tall” now but you won’t find them drastically different from your 2011 vintage seats.

You could also take your current seats to a local upholsterer and have them recover them

I like them a lot. Nice and snug with the side bolsters providing good lateral support and very comfortable with the optional lumbar support. I'm fairly tall so have these bolted to the floor/frame which puts me lower and farther back in the car. If you are on the tall side I would definitely recommend them. I had the old original wood and fiberglass seats with sliders which for me were not optimal. Scott

Thanks. I like that they sell the lumbar support I can buy directly from them. Plus they make the build somewhat more unique.

I am worried about comfort during long drives (less padding) as well as the ease of getting in and out. I do plan to install a grab handle on the passenger side to make it easy.

I am exactly 6' tall btw.
