I'm planning my build for a Mk4 scheduled to arrive in Oct '22.
I've ordered:
complete kit
powder coated
IRS 3:55
heat/defrost
wipers
leather
wind wings
chrome roll bar x 2
Smith style GPS gauges
13" rear brakes
18" Halibrands

I've also ordered the Blueprint Engines LS376 530/495 with TKX (sorry guys but had to go with HP/$$)

I've been searching for a build thread of someone else using the same engine and tranny. If you know of one, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I know of a LSX, 6 speed car in Austin. I have some really good brake ans suspension options for you.

I've been following his build (which has already been helpful). Thanks for posting the link.

TKX is a pretty new transmission and LS not common, Id venture nobody yet. Though Ive been having limited success shifting my TR6060 at 7850 rpm and the TKX Tremec is saying shifts better at high RPM, so if I swap out for the TKX Ill probably beat you to it, I currently have what GM would call an LS378/620, mated to a TR6060. The TKX seems like the obvious choice now that it is out given the shifting benefits and the weight compared to a 6 speed, though it would be nice to see a longer 5th gear offered, its tough to beat cruising 80 at under 1900 rpm.

Liberty Gear can fix your 6060 to shift like butter. But it aint cheap.

Haha, just about as much as switching to a TKX but the TKX is also supposedly 40 lbs lighter. Im not too worried about it, its only the 3-2 shift thats ever bothered me and its probably my fault for not blipping deep enough into the throttle for it to feel nice, I dont think it will be a problem on track when it actually matters.

Looking at the RPM calculator, my tires, 3:55, and 5th gear in TKX comes in:
.81= 2961 RPMs @ 80 mph
.72= 2632 RPMs @ 80 mph
.61= 2230 RPMs @ 80 mph

0.61 would be a good compromise I think. I am only seeing down to 0.68 on the TKX.

Just looked again...you're right 0.68 is as low as they go on the TKX (close ratio). .72 on the wide ratio.
