Ok, since my engine is out getting the once over by the good folks at Blueprint, I'm keeping myself busy by knocking out some projects on the old girl.
I bought an under-seat active sub-woofer to mount behind the driver seat in the lower cavity against the back wall. I struggle a bit getting the right size hole for the screws I have not wanting to go too big. I get that done. I wire it up and test. I put on some RUSH and after some tweaks with the pass filter and gain, I can hear Ged slappin' da bass and Neil's drum kit thumping the seat. Test is a success. I go under the car to permanently attach the remote +12 sense wire to a switched supply. Power to the heated seats is conveniently right there to tap +12 from as I know the seat heaters only work on accessory or run. Working upside down I solder it in, wrap it up etc.. Looks good from the ground up under the car. I get out from under the car, for the 11th time as I continue to forget something I need. I go to install the seat, but I mounted too high and the 3" thick sub is interfering with the seat. Shoot. I lower the sub and all is good. I reach over the closed door, (The car is on my QuickJacks) and put the key in the accessory position. No thumpin' or slappin', just the two 5 1/2" working. Hmm. I put the key in run position. Nope. I reach down to check the wiring and on the way back up with my hand, it hits the seat warmer switch, which is mounted on the outside cabin wall, hidden from view and boom, the sub turns on and is putting out great bass. Moving the switch to the low heat setting, nope. No bass. LOL
So, my sub-woofer now works ONLY when the seat heater is on the high seat setting. LOL

If you are intimidated with wiring up your Factory Five project, I'm your guy! But hurry! Open slots are filling fast!

Mark, sorry about your audio installation challenges but that last sentence made me laugh.

Gotta have a sense of humor to build custom cars. The two things I dislike most are electrical and body work. Electrical I'm good at but just don't like the slow monotonous tempo of the work, I lose patience and concentration so frequently lose my place and have to go back through what I just did. But bodywork I've never been good at and never will as it's another one of those tasks that take forever before you complete the job. I loose interest quickly. Lucky for me there are people that are great at body & paint, too bad they always seem to be booked so far in advance.

Have fun.

Could you post pictures of your speakers and sub setup mburger when you get a chance. I would love to see it.

Sorry the pic is rotated 90 degrees.
The sub is mounted too high in this picture. Hits the seat. It accepts high and low inputs. I have a Bluetooth amp installed in the cubby rear wall powering the two speakers. The line out connections feed this sub.
