I own a Mark I Roadster that I purchased and I want to remove the side pipes to have them ceramic coated. Removing the bolts from the headers is no problem but I am not familiar with the support stud that’s mounted through a rubber support that’s mounted to the frame. I’m guessing that I simply pry the rubber support off the pin on the frame but before I wreck something I thought I would ask here. Thanks in advance for your help.

Squirt some dish soap into the hole in the rubber that the pin comes through. That will allow the pin to slip out of the rubber hanger.

Thanks Ralph. I actually bought a pair of exhaust removal pliers from Advanced Auto Parts too. I figured it was simple but again I didn’t want to accidentally wreck something. Cheers!

GrooveM, did you get it off? Make sure the “pin” isn’t actually a small bolt. Normally it would have a washer on it but maybe the head of the bolt pulled into rubber?
