I've finally had time to swap my underdrive pulleys for the standard ones to see if it will help my cooling issue.

I have the standard-issue setup with reverse rotation waterpump, AGR/Fox power steering pump, and Mustang 5.0 pulleys. Attached photo is the CURRENT belt and part number for my underdrive pulleys.

In the same box I saved the stock pulleys, old belt and sleeve with the part number. I recall the old belt got so dry I threw it out but apparently, I'm wrong, the cardboard sleeve is for the CURRENT belt.

I think the "regular" belt was 2" longer but I can't remember how to decipher the part number. I am absolutely positive my tension adjuster won't compensate for the belt I already have when used with the stock pulleys.

Eddie,

This may help: https://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/belt-route-smog-and-ac-delete.789561/

Looks like a 73" belt is likely what you want.

Hehe.. I just drove the car to the auto parts store (O'Reily I think) and brought one of the guys out and pointed at the belt and said, I need one of those. I have a Challenge car with PS, small racing pully, and such. We measured and he got me setup. Was pretty easy really.

I found an old photo from 2006. If only digital cameras were a bit better I could read the part number on the belt. Also, brain fart - no reason I can't measure the distance with painter's tape or a string.

I'll use the above # for the 73" belt and see if I can confirm with a string before ordering.

(For the old-timers here, those are our forum friends Roger Stine on the left, and Paul Mastroianni on the right. May they both rest in peace.)

get a piece of string. Tape one end of the string on a pulley (any pulley). Wrap the string the same way you would run the belt. Where the tensioner is just run the string straing past it - don't wrap the string around the tensioner pulley. Where the string meets on the pulley you taped it to, mark the spot where the string meet with a magic marker pen. Take the string off and measure with a tape measure and you will have the belt length.
