Hi All, Happy New Year!
Take a look at this! I received this from my sons on Christmas. It's a wooden engineered functional Cobra model. Took me about 12 hours to assemble. I could not believe the engineering in this kit. Forward, reverse, turns, doors, hood and trunk open. Very cool! Martin

marto, That model is not wood, but it resembles wood. It is actually a rapid prototype process known as LOM or Laminate Object Manufacturing.

Sheets of paper become laser cut sections that are bonded together to become solid objects.

I bought one of those for my son in law for Xmas. He was pretty excited about drifting it :)

Isn’t paper made from wood? :p

It’s definitely wood. It’s like a plywood.

My wife got one for me for Xmas. Neat design. All fit, no glue. It’s going much faster than my real build :)

Was going to start a build thread on this one …

You guys have missed something significant here: Martin, tell us about the AR-15 drawings under the model. Did you get an AR-15 for Christmas, too?

Noticed as well and yeah, inquiring minds want to know.
Let’s see a build thread on that! :D

It looks like a popular padded mat for gun smithing & building AR’s. I think I have one myself.

Doesn't everybody have one of those mats?

EDIT: Speaking of the mat have found a gallon can of parts or carburetor cleaner from the auto store works well on the mat. Can will have a strainer basket inside. Plop the parts in the basket close the can & leave it for a while. When the cleaner get dirty you can strain it with a piece of cheese cloth & get a few extra uses out of it.

Hi Al,
Yes, There are several ARs and AKs are in the arsenal, along with some others.... I'll have to show you the vault when you stop by next summer.
Have a great new year!
