I would like to install a automatic transmission in a Mk4 roadster. Can anyone share experience with this install. My question is how much modification is needed to the trans tunnel and subframe?

I have, mostly the AOD. You have to cut off all the useless exterior tabs on the housing but it fits. I beleive the 6R80 will work also with the coyote.

If you plan on getting an engine from Blueprint, you could probably ask them nicely to measure the difference between the auto and manual packages. For example, they're offering a 427 with a TKX manual or a 4R70W automatic; you could ask about length/width/height measurements.

As I recall, Gordon's right about the 6R80 mounted to a Gen2/3 Coyote. Don't think the 10R80 will fit.

Here's PBH's 6R80 measurements: https://pbhperformance.com/6r80-dimensional-drawings-for-your-coyote-swap/
Here's the TKO/TKX/T56 measurements, which will undoubtedly fit: https://www.holley.com/blog/post/inside_tremec_s_new_tkx_five-speed_manual_transmissions_and_how_they_compare_to _the_tko_t56/

Other than a custom driveshaft, I'd venture to say no trans tunnel mods are needed, though the shifter may be an interesting situation.

The AOD required some mods to the trans mount as well to clear the pan.

I had a 5.0 with an AOD in my MKII, when it was totaled I took the engine and trans and installed it in my MKIV Roadster. As mentioned there are a couple of tabs on the trans case that need to be trimmed down. I also had to modify the trans mount to clear the pan, but I have an aftermarket pan I mine.
