Hey guys!
Excuse my ignorance... I'm interested in converting my car (Mark III) to a bigger driver's side footbox. Will the Mark IV panels fit it? I'd just like to do the outer two side panels if possible.

Randy,
The panels are significantly different. My hunch is that the Mk4 panels would fit the Mk3 chassis but not mate up to any of your existing aluminum in the footbox aside from the tunnel horseshoe and possibly the floor. Here is the best I could find showing the area from my Mk3 pics:

I got some better shots of the outside of the driver's footbox while doing the Mk4:

Both the left and right side panels are different as is the front bulkhead and the ones over the top. Definitely a body off proposition to change them.
Maybe your best bet would be to make a kickout box for the LH side. You can see it from the outside in my top photo and here is a look from inside:

With cautious cutting this could be done from inside the footbox with the body on.
