Going to build a powder coat oven while waiting for my kit many months from now. Wanted to know the largest piece most of you get powder coated. Don't say the frame :)
I am thinking maybe the firewall? Going to build it to size and have the ability to break it down when not in use. I have powder coated many pieces in my normal size oven but want to do all the pieces myself. I will be receiving the frame powder coated from FFR.
Thanks Jeff

Depends upon what your all planning on powder coating.

Since the fire wall is 3 pieces it may not be larger than the largest passenger & driver aluminum floor pan pieces, if you powder coat those.

Of course if you're going to powder coat the windshield frame than that is longer than the firewall or the floor pans.

If you plan on the suspension and driveline, the rear end is by far larger than any of those pieces mentioned above.

Thanks Jim,
What size is the floor pans? Hope to do all the aluminum pieces. You mention the window frame. How hard is it to remove the window from the frame? It is not glued in like newer windshields? I am going with IRS so pieces and parts for that.
Sounds like if I go 5 to 6 ft wide will do the trick.

The roadster window frame is 2 pieces screwed together with 2 screws per side - essentially a u shaped bottom with a top that gets added . The glass sits in a channel with a rubber gasket, it's not glued. Easy to remove the glass and either paint or polish the aluminum frame.

5 to 6 foot wide should do the trick. i think the longest aluminum panel for the floor is ~ 4ft.

Steve has already answered the windshield piece

Started to build the oven for those that are curious. All the electronics tested fine. Started the construction of the box. Will be approx. 6x4x4. Putting my son to work as well.

Looks good. I’ve built 2 ovens in the past, only big enough for valve covers.
You using 120 or 240?

Really both. All controls are 110v. Using 220v for the coils only and will be switched on by SSRs. Will be drawing 33amps (11 amps per coil) using my 50amp plug. Each coil will be fused separately for further safety.
