Continuing on the the Gen III wheel/tire interest...

Trying to get away from running the 2" rear spacer with the FR500 'style' wheels I came across Rocket Racing Attack wheels available in a range of backspacings- and on sale for 'HolleyDays'.

Front 18x10 5.5" backspace, Rear 18x11 5.0" backspace. These wheels do require bore adaptor rings and are not for 'racing use' according to Rocket Racing's website.
Made in China. 26lbs 4oz front, 26lbs 9 oz rear.

Tires: Toyo R88R front 295-30-18, rear 315-30-18.

I did have to add a 0.375" spacer to the fronts to clear my 2000 Cobra R Brembo calipers- annoying and tire reveal past the front wheel arch would have been less- leaving it for now. A 6" backspace front would have been better and maybe a 275mm tire. Next time.

In any case, I like the wheels- especially the obvious concavity of the rears- no rubbing. 3.75" ride height.

The tires are great- huge traction. At the track I bet I'd be faster with 275s all around at my hp levels - but bragging rights.

Hey Dave. I added your car to my spreadsheet with the Rocket Racing Attack wheels, since you shared those specs on Instagram earlier this week. I will also add your FR500 set too since you posted those specs on the forum today.

There are frankly not many options for wide wheels with low or negative offset (low backspacing if that's what you're used to using). I looked at the Rocket Racing wheels briefly, considering them for my car, but ended up going with F14s. I do like how these look on your car though. Even though RR may not recommend them for racing, I assume you plan to run them on track? Curious to see if you notice any difference from the FR500/NT01 setup. Either due to wheel weight affecting handling, or tires affecting grip. Keep us posted!

BTW, what was the HolleyDeal? How much did this set run you, if you don't mind sharing? (or PM me if needed).

I'll track these for sure- I have other concerns as far as points of failure go- whether it's me of some other part of the car.

The Holley sale is about 10% off- Holley, Jegs, Summit- all of the usual outlets- rears were about $600 each and fronts about $500- not inexpensive. It was also a sot of 'need them now' sort of thing.

I've got maybe 200 miles on them. I also had a distributor fail around the time of getting the new wheels/tires (MSD Ready-to-Run) so I changed that as well. I say this because with the smaller tire diameter, the car feels a bit quicker but this might just be the new distributor/timing. The old tires were heat-cycled out and the rubber felt hard- and you could spin/slide them around in 1st. These new ones nope- solid grip.

Here is full throttle, rolled-on with a view of the wheels:
