Has anyone received their engine/trans combo recently? I have been told that my 427/tkx was delayed first, due to lack of transmissions, and most recently due to lack of blocks...just wondering if anyone has heard any additional information.
Thanks

Not surprised in the least, both are next to impossible to get right now.

Earlier this year when I got my 302 they went from an 8 week lead to 16 weeks. But then luck hit. I was planning on receiving my engine in July but it arrived in May. With the current supply chain issues it really is a best guess at this moment.

I was told that we may see the blocks by April. They advised there's about 100 to be built when the blocks get delivered. So you're probably talking May, June or July on the 427.

I have had a 347 ordered since Feb 1st 2021.....latest ship date is April 30 2022....waiting for blocks is what i have heard. Just borrowed a 302 from a friend to put in the car until the 347 arrives...patiently ? waiting...

I ordered a 427 in October, they told me March then April. Who knows. I asked when the new cast blocks are coming they said late in the year.

I've been looking at alternatives to Blueprint. Forte told me late February. Prestige Motorsports said March. I don't know if Blueprint would give me back my deposit if I cancelled. They don't have a product to sell so I think they should refund if someone cancels.

They gave me a full refund.. had one ordered in August and then read all the bad news on lead times and cancelled - decided to go with a Coyote.

The thing is no one has dart blocks and no one will have dart blocks until everyone has dart blocks. So if dart block become available in March then folks should start receiving their engines within weeks from any of the builders out there.

Yea I know Dart is and issue for the 427, but they also told me they have no 351 oem blocks eiither because I inquired about a 408 as well. Nobody has anything:mad:

That is, no one is willing to go look for them. I have a few and building several right now.
What is the cause of shortage issue with Dart blocks? Not enough employees to work or material shortage? Too much demand?

Dart was bought, management stopped production to clean house, change part numbers and move production.

Anyone look at the Ford "Z" aluminum block?

Or the 351 Big Bore iron block?

Thanks for all the responses. I ordered my 427/TKX in June. Last info (last week) was that my delivery has been pushed to May....
I wonder how these supply chain issues are going to recover over time. I see a lot of things we've grown accustomed to just never coming back. Small business can't sustain these sorts of delays indefinitely. Eventually, people will just use their expendable income on something else.

Wait a minute. Are they no longer owned by Race Winning Brands? That acquisition took place in 2018. Who has them now? Where are they moving production to?
Hi All
FYI, I talked to to Blueprint a few months ago about a small block Ford for my Mustang. They said there was a world wide shortage of good cores and they are working on casting there own. The ETA at the time was estimated at 8 months.
Thanks John

I ran into similar issues trying to get a 363 done at Kraft performance, placed the order back in Feb, still nothing into Sept, cancelled my order received full refund. I contacted Forte's and he came through (he had several Ford Performance Blocks in house)
I now have a 500hp 363.

Plenty of 302 blocks sitting in junkyards. Just have to go get one and find a decent machine shop. I'm having fun building my own 347. Maybe Blueprint would build you an engine if you sent them a prepped block.

I have a '69 351W block sitting in my basement. Maybe it's time to sell it?

Does World products" still make ford blocks ? We have one of there 427 small blocks based on a tall deck 351. He built our engine many years ago and at the time was casting heads for Rousch.

Ordered my 347/TKX from BPE in June, 2021. They called me early December 2021 to say it was complete, crated and ready to ship. Ironically, I can’t accept it until late January 2022. They said no prob, just call and it will ship.

It would be nice if a BPE rep came into this discussion and provided some information.

Good Morning Guys, one of our BluePrint Engineers saw your post and ask I chime in for some clarification, and maybe putting some mind at ease, and provide information.
Lets start with the good news. It's no secret that we're well into development of our BluePrint Ford style 302 and 351 W blocks. In fact we have some 302 samples in house for test engines, and inspection. So long term, thats great for us, and all of our customers.
lets divide the line about what engines are slow, vs which engines are at a standstill.
our current 302/306/347 engines are currently using a seasoned block. The core yards did slow our delivery greatly at the peak of covid, so anyone receiving that information was getting it correctly. However, that has improved, and the 302 deck engines are being built, and may be slower than normal, but are still moving. No one with a 302/306/347 on order should fret. We do prioritize the complete packages vs base longblocks. Which is why a package may be quoted a much better time, and we highly recommend a turn key FFR package, vs piecing it together yourself using a basic longblock.
onto 427's. It's already been discussed the issues with aftermarket 351 deck blocks. Dart has slowed to a stand still on these blocks. The FMS blocks are also out of stock everywhere. Some smaller operations may have a few squirreled away. but anyone considering cancelling a BPE 427 order should consider the fact that we do have a BPE 351 block coming in the future, which based on what we have seen elsewhere, may be the next one we have to build BPE 427's.
if you want something quickest, a 347 is the ticket. I saw the 408 brought up also. We never really marketed that engine as a FFR engine, and it uses the same forged connecting rods we use in the 427. So it's not really cores on that one, but rotating assembly components.
We don't currently have any TKX issues at all, plenty here.
I know I didn't give any date to when our BPE blocks will be ready, but I promise they are coming. We're in the same boat as every other company out there. Large companies are waiting on a supplier, which are also waiting on a supplier, which are waiting on raw materials, from another source that’s down man power. This is why we design and manufacture so many of our own products like engine blocks, and heads, is we control our own supply chain. In this instance where we relied on an outside source for ford blocks...now we're in a predicate. But we'll come out of this in a better place, with a more efficient, and better product in the end.
Thanks to those of you that are going with us, and are sticking with us.

I guess my follow up on the 427s are we talking more than 6 months? I really admire BPE and the business we've done thus far.

Unfortunately it's so subjective right now, and so many stars need to align I don't even want to publicly say without more information. Dart could get 20 blocks from the foundry in a week, or it could take a year. The same foundry mind you, that our BluePrint Blocks are coming from...and same story there, enough BPE blocks to make a dent may take 6 months, or 8 months. Just tough to say. I don't even want to toss a guess out and disappoint anyone without any in depth talk with engineering.
I will say... unless someone has a dart or ford block squirreled away, I think we'll be the first to produce 427's again, but I guess time will tell. When we have something concrete, customers will be notified.

My 347 was delivered Jan 5th after a 11 month wait. The car was already for the installation, and the car was fired up Yesterday Jan 10th. Runs great! It was a Ford block, not the new blueprint one....
Thanks to Blueprint for the motor...was a long wait...

I received my Ford performance 427 short block from Jegs in 90 days. On January 7, 2022. My AFR heads come today. Both took about 3 most. I feel lucky and blessed that I have a 427bfrom what I am reading.
