View Full Version : Gauge lighting problem
I have the FF5 vintage smith style gauges. Recently the back lighting on the volt meter went out, all other gauges are ok and the indicator needles all work. Before pulling the dash to check it out I wonder should I order a new gauge to be ready to replace it while the dash is out or is it more likely a loose connection. I know it’s just a guess but I figure you guys guesses are better than mine. Thanks for any opinions!

Hopefully you have access to the gauge from under the dash or you may have to remove the dash to test the white wire on the lead, if you have + coming in then the bulb is loose or bad inside. Easy to take out and return to speedhut with their exceptional customer service.
If it's just one gauge, I'd double check the connection for the light wiring (mine were all plug-in connectors). If it is the gauge, SpeedHut has excellent customer service and will replace it under their lifetime warranty.
