It doesn’t look like I can seat the rear pedal box bracket as the clutch disengage switch sticks out too far. Will I need to clearance the bracket, or do I have something misplaced?

Run the stop nut on the switch all the way down, it fits. Also, change out those switches to the genuine GM switches. You'll thank me later.

Not sure how you have your pedal arm to MC adjusted. Normally that switch has to be installed with the backing nut all the way against the body of the switch. So it doesn't make it that for back to interfere. Something to check.
Edit: Frankeeski beat me to it... Crank it down. I had OK luck with that particular kit provided switch. But don't doubt his experience. I tend to replace the other knock-off switches as well with genuine parts. Like the headlight switch and the previously used brake/clutch switches.

I haven’t actually adjusted the switch(es), merely set them about halfway down, which is what they look like in the manual.
It strikes me that if the fit is that tight, you’d never be able to get the switch out afterwards without removing the bracket.
Thanks for the help!

While I’m at it, the main pedal box mount needs a distinct upward angle (toward the rear of the car) in order to get the rear bracket on. The front bolts are loose, and it looks like the bent flange isn’t at the right angle.

I suspect mine is intermittent and had trouble searching that part number. Thanks for posting the picture.
I'm placing it here in text for future users to find. Replacement clutch safety switch / brake light switch.
