I tried searching, but didnt find anything.

So on page 80 of Coyote fitment instructions it tells you to cut the blue wire that is part of the loom that goes to the starter. Rest is positive red wires to starter. Befor ecutting it, it seems to ping as a starter trigger wire and I tried exactly that. Starter works as it should.

Then I saw a black "starter lead" wire that was sort of independent, and looks well insulated. It may, or may not reach the location of the starter.

Could someone set me straight here - can either one of these options be used? Or should I cut the blue and figure a way to rout black wire as trigger?

so basically the way this should work is that the Coyote ECU is controlling the start so the wire isn;t used - you can either cut it or just secure it...

I'm assuming the black wire you're referring to is the wire marked "starter" from the Coyote control pack harness. For a Coyote installation, most common to route that wire to the small terminal on the starter and allow the Coyote ECU to control the start as Erik mentioned. In that case, you don't use the blue start wire you're asking about. It can either be removed or just cut and tied out of the way. There's another blue start wire directly off the ignition switch that needs to be attached to the Coyote pigtail harness. Described in the Ford Performance and Factory Five Coyote instructions.

Ah, ok. That makes sense. Appreciate the feedback. I will re-wire what I have.

Started to work on dash harness today. Well, so overwhelmed by that whole thing.
