I'm currently in the queue for a hardtop Serpent Express. I'm going back and forth on the length. I seem to remember Bob Cowan (?) recommended an 18-ft length, but I'm thinking of a 16-ft length. The car is about 13ft 6in long, and I'm only going to transport it between homes - I'm not going to track it or anything like that. I'd like to bring my rolling toolbox along in the front of the enclosed trailer as well as some misc luggage if needed. No extra tires or anything like that. Just a spare tire hung on the side wall.

I'm thinking of a toolbox on the front of the tongue and a winch. The builder said they could put the winch in the bottom of the toolbox with a feed through to the enclosed trailer and I could put other tools (jack, etc.) in there as well.

Comments? Any advice on options?

Thanks,
Steve

A longer trailer is a little more stable when towing, and it gives you options. You may not always need that extra 24". But when you do, you'll be glad you have it.

I'm with the longer mindset. I do understand what you are saying but there "may" come a time when you want to sell it. 16" arnt that sought after. 18-14 are the most sought after....bring the best return...My 2 cents...da Bat
