For the Gen 3 Coyote install - using the ford hose provided in the kit, the hose connector rests on the power steering belt. Although I'm trying to stick with as many FFR provided solutions as possible, this won't work in this case - what are some simple alternative workarounds for the upper hose here?158410

Power by the Hour has a upper radiator hose adapter as an alternative. Once installed, you can find a standard 1.5" hose, section really, that provides the required shape and clearance. I am using the adapter on a Coyote swapped 70 Mustang.

Simple fix with the existing parts. Ran into this same problem with my Gen 3 Coupe / Gen 3 Coyote build. Found a solution from another builder which I documented in my build thread:

While under the car tweaking the front coilovers and ride height just slightly, noticed that the upper radiator hose was contacting the KRC water pump pulley. The KRC power steering kit includes a new water pump pulley that replaces the stock one. Drives the added belt for the power steering pump. Others have reported that the underside of this extended pulley hits the upper radiator hose where it leaves the engine. My Roadster with the same setup is close but doesn't touch. This one however was making a mark in the hose fitting. Did a search and found several possible solutions. The connection is keyed with a push on fitting. The solution I liked was to cut a new slot for the key so that the hose rotated slightly. Used a 1/8-inch burr in my Dremel, cut a new slot about 3/8-inch away from the existing one (it doesn’t take much) and pushed back together keying on the new slot. Rotated the hose enough that now I have about 1/4-inch clearance. Took all of 15-20 minutes and a perfect solution. Didn't even lose or drip any coolant. So, thanks to the forum and forum member who posted.

I've read where some cut the key off completely. This allows it to rotate and not interfere. The above solution also rotates but locks in place.

I also did exactly as Edwardb describes. Solves the problem perfectly.

So I gather this is only an issue if an aftermarket pulley is used? Surely this isn't commonplace on the Mustangs with the Coyote engine, as long as FFR is providing the correct hose.

Simple fix, carefully cut the existing shrink clamp off and replace with a regular worm hose clamp.

It happens when using the KRC power steering kit. It's been a while since I put on the PS pump, but I think that is when I replaced the pulley with one provided by KRC.

Thanks everyone, those are some good options!!
