There are two NPT fittings in the forward coolant passage. One on the passenger side behind the thermostat housing (which is larger) and a second, smaller one on the drivers side. Does anyone know the NPT size of these? I’m thinking 1/2 NPT and 3/8 NPT respectively but I wanted to verify. The Edelbrock literature and website don’t say the size.
The reason I need to know is I am switching my car over to electronic fuel injection which has created a need for three openings in the coolant passage but there are only two openings there. I need an opening for my heater core, the ECT for the dashboard temperature gauge, and one for the ECT for the fuel injection system. I was thinking about trying to get a Street T style fitting to put the heater hose and dashboard water temperature gauge ECT in.
Unless you guys have other thoughts?

1/2npt on pass side 3/8 npt on drivers side. I use a water neck that has a 1/4 npt in it for one of the temp sensors when running efi and need another location.

I thought about doing that style of water neck but I have an FE style expansion tank on the car which makes that very difficult to accomplish. The draw back with my style of set up is that coolant has to always be circulating through the heater core. Oh well. Thanks for verifying those fitting sizes Gordon!

You can also drill and tap the rear of the manifold over the rear water port for a sensor. We do it all the time on that manifold for a coolant crossover.

Are you able to snap a quick pic pointing to where that would be done?

Breeze Automotive used to have a tee fitting just for the purpose you describe. I couldn't find it on his website, so give Mark a call & tell him what you need. He'll point you in the right direction.

Amazed they are still in production. Ran Edelbrocks Victor & Tarantula back in the 1960's.

I tried to run a tee but the temp need to accurate. I found it ran 20 degrees cooler, that’s no bueno for the EFI, it has to be right or it won’t run correctly. I ran my EFI and dash gauge with the 2 available on the manifold. I ran the heater corp off the the thermostat housing. People drill and tap them, I found one with a thread from Napa. It was 12 bucks.
