Hi all, quick one for you. I have a small gap to allow break lines escape from DS footbox, pictured below. Should I worry about filling this? If so, how should I fill it? I am seeing duct seal compound as one potential solution on the forum. Other suggestions? Thanks!

I would just silicone around it on both sides. Anything you can do to keep heat out is good.

I used black silicon as well. Now that I know that’s what Mike does too I feel extra good about it.

There are many areas to fill small gaps. Black silicone in a caulking gun to the rescue.

For larger gaps, I use Dynatron 550 Auto Seam Sealer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005RNFBMC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and in some times made aluminum patches from scrap. I'm pretty sure the sealer comes in a variety of colors so you can match to your aluminum panels.

Closing the loop on this one...
I used the 3M Dynatron auto seam sealer. Not sure how to describe this but it's much softer than silicon. It worked well. I could only find it in gray so it stands out pretty badly on my black panels. But it's the inner corner of the DS footbox panel so not a huge deal.
For the smaller gaps, I used a handheld Permatex 81158 black silicone that I thought did a great job.
Thanks for all of the suggestions.
