I must admit electrical is not my strong suit and thought I would post a couple questions before I get too deep in this
1) dialectic grease. I have reviewed several build threads and have not seen mention of its use. I understand it should not be used between the ground connection and the frame/chassis because it is non conductive. Is it recommended for our builds to be used on these connections after the system is tested? Similarly, instead of using the dialectic grease the prevent corrosion, can you prime and paint over the ground connections to prevent corrosion
2) how difficult is it to remove the flat steering column harness wires? I am not concerned about the weight savings but I am more interested in decluttering the pedal box. I have thought about cutting the connector off and heat shrinking the cut ends. Have others removed the wires completely and how difficult it it? Is it worth the effort?
3) replacing the clutch and brake switches. I have seen that these are unreliable and it has been recommended to replace with an OEM part. I can’t find that thread where I saw the part number; does anyone know what that PN is?
4) how bright are the LED courtesy lights? I am thinking about added the lights to the DS and PS foot boxes rear cubby, and center console area. It looks like the LED strip can be cut into six individual light elements. I was thinking two in each foot box and 1 ea in the center console and rear cubby areas?
5) does anyone have recommendation for a good quality USB style charger?
