Is there any frame changes that make the coupe different than a convertable 818?

Ralph,
The major changes are all related to the body. The 818S (street/roadster) has a full windshield frame, and rear engine cover and trunk lid, to replace the coupe top. Since the windshield gets bonded/sealed into the coupe top, you would also need another windshield (Gen2 Toyota MR2…from what I recall). No other frame or body panel changes.

Coupe has power windows and exterior door handles. Convertible does not.

Yeah would need windshield frame, windshield, engine cover and trunk panel. Sadly I think it’s more cost effective/easier to have bought a convert and just add a roof vs the other way.

It totally was cheaper. I just called FF on this actually. It’s about 1500 in parts with an 8-10 week production time. The hard top lists as 3499
818c 12990 + 1500= 14,490
818s 9990 + 3499= 13,488
Would have been 1k cheaper that route, unless I’m missing something.

Yep a lot easier …just add the top when needed or take it off when not
Total time to swap about 3 minutes
