I am considering ditching my FFR side pipes and headers part of my order and going with Gas-n. I know these are US made, they look amazing and they are possibly a bit quieter than the FFR supplied pipes. I also like the fact that I can get a little larger pipe on the headers.
My question is, does anyone have any feedback on them? I know a couple of local guys that might have gone with them, but not really sure. I am thinking about going with the brushed stainless rather than the polished.
1. I don't want the "touring" ones, just the standard, or
2. Should I go with the 3" core aggressive sound?
3. Where is the most common place to have the O2 sensor placed on the headers? And should it be on the left or right header?
4. Does anyone know if the brushed are hard to keep clean and looking new?
5. I will have a DART 351w stroked to a 427; should I go with the larger diameter headers 1 7/8" vs 1 3/4"?
Thanks for your feedback...
Btw, I can't wait to start my build thread.... I think I just need to be a little closer to my delivery date.
Ted
You won't be disappointed. I ran my car for some time in go-kart with the FFR steel pipes. I had always planned to use Gas-N for my final build. Just before shipping the car to paint, I swapped the pipes and the sound difference is very noticeable. The Gas-N are not really that much quieter than the FFR pipes when you look at the dB values some have posted, but the sound is much different. The FFR pipes have a harsher sound with more "bark" to them, whereas the Gas-N pipes give a much mellower muscle car note.

Hey Ted - check out Travis' car next time, he got the Gasn Touring pipes, made about 10dB difference which is noticeable!
I want them as well, but 5-6 month backorder and $1.9K price I'm gonna wait LOL

I just spoke with George over at Gas-n. He said about 12 weeks out. Polished side pipes are $1195 (stainless), $1295 (brushed stainless), $1395 (polished) and another $200 for the touring. I figured with the $999 credit I'll get from FFR, they'll only cost me $295 extra.
Btw, any Cars and Coffee this weekend?

Look good sound good, fit terrible
Ted, I am running the FFR stainless adjustable ball joint headers, Gas 'n touring and a Dart 427. If you are out at C&C sometime you can take a listen. They will require exhaust wedges on drivers side to make them fit correctly, passenger is a direct bolt up. Not a huge deal with wedges but required to get a good fit. FWIW I had the standard Gas 'n pipes and they were pretty loud my wife was not digging it. The touring pipes with a 427 sound good and are tolerable to your ears. You will still set off car alarms above 3k RPMs but not ear piercing.
Also keep in mind a 302/347 with touring pipes will sound different than a 427 with touring pipes.... more HP = louder pipes. I installed a set of touring pipes on a 302 this year and they were VERY quiet in comparison to my 427.

Thanks Travis, I would love to listen to them next time your out and about. I am going to go with them, just not sure if I want the touring or not. I think I'm going to with brushed stainless for just a different look and I think it'll look sharp with my color scheme (unless I change that again). LOL
Thank again and Happy Thanksgiving!!

glad you adjusted my pricing ;)
I guess for what I'm looking at are the polished touring which are $1759 shipped!
I guess I could sell my FFR pipes and make up some of the difference!
it's great that he's at 12 weeks now, last time I chatted with him he chuckled a bit :)
surely there will be a C&C - hopefully just chilly and no rain! :)
Like Travis said, big difference depending on HP, engine size, etc... You can tell a difference if you know what you're listening for!

Happy thanksgiving to you as well, weather permitting (no fog) on Saturday I might try and make it out to C&C Folsom. BTW I only got a $200 credit on not ordering the FFR side pipes, not sure what they are doing now.

Well I think I would get the $200 credit plus not paying for the chrome upgrade of $999.00 - So that's a savings of $1199 ($200 + $999). The FFR SS headers are $799 and the Gas-n are $975.
So that would make the Gas-n headers (brushed stainless - $1295) cost about $176 more and the side pipes cost about $96 more plus shipping.
See you both soon!
