LED Back Up lights placement

I purchased two 11" LED strip lights for this purpose. They have a ridged mounting back with 2 holes for screws. My first thought was to mount them to the gas tank cover on either side. However, I don't want to see them from the back, and not having the body on yet, can't tell if this will be the case. Any suggestions or photos would be helpful for my MK IV.

I did this
Little subtle ones that hang just below the body. It's not a great shot but you can see the one on the drivers side just below the body line.
