I have had a decent amount of stuff powdercoated, nothing crazy but things that are steel IMHO should be powdercoated to mitigate rust

here is what I think may be my last set of 'things' to go to the powder coater, he has a minimum $100 charge so if I can throw in a bunch of smaller things he usually just says sure... :)

the breeze seat mounts are steel, and yes - NOBODY will see them! but open air and steel - they'll get surface rust for sure
the hood hinge and trunk hinges are aluminum, so it's a matter of finish - shiny aluminum or black
I could go either way here, I think since my engine panels are black the black would match - but there's also plenty of chrome/metal on the Coyote setup that bare aluminum wouldn't look out of place either, and yes, nobody will see the trunk hinges (except me!)

thoughts? ideas? recommendations?

FWIW - the hinge components are all stainless steel, not aluminum. You could leave them bare and they'd probably be fine (I don't know what grade of SS FF uses - it may tarnish over time). I PC'ed all of my hinge components other than the plates that get riveted to the hood and trunk, as I will mount those and have them painted with the hood and trunk.

Don't forget the quickjacks, if you're going with those.

Todd, I left my hood hinges uncoated in stainless, so far they have had no rust on them. I kind if like the stainless look of them but have also seen guys PC them which looks nice. Good call on the Breeze seat bases for PC, I just painted mine but PC would be even better.

Here is a pic of the stainless hinges:

Yeah Todd, Fman's engine bay looks sweet! A nice blend of black and silver, etc... I'm going with rattle can clear on the stainless parts. I'm planning on doing that with my breeze seat mounts too. Like you said, nobody will see them, but powder is always the best option for protection. Keep it up, you'll be go cart'n soon!

Todd,

Who do you use for PC? I looked at Performance, but they wanted $2000 for my chassis, ugh!

Fman has a great guy up in Auburn

as far as chassis goes, that's pretty big - but $2k is insane!
slip FFR $500 and it can arrived powdercoated black :)
