After the suggestions from my first post, and some research I've decided to go with the QA1's. Will Factory Five give a deletion credit for the Koni's?

Yes, they've always given me credit for things I deleted - even odd things like steering wheel and grill which aren't normally deleted.

Yes, I got deletion credit for a lot of different parts, even the Ron Francis harness (I went with American Autowire) and the Koni's. I'm not sure how that works after you've placed your order, but FFR always tries to work with their customers. BTW, I had several deleted parts delivered with the kit anyway. I gave FFR a list and they sent me pre-paid return mailing labels to send back any or all of the (expensive) deleted parts. FFR wanted stuff like the Koni's and RF harness, but didn't care about the exhaust pipes (I got 2 sets).

Just a hint. Yes, you can delete parts for credit. But don't expect full retail value or maybe even close. I suspect they delete at their cost. But that's just a guess. In some cases though you may want to take the parts for the build only or even mockup. You might change your mind. NIB parts can routinely sell for a decent cost. So you can recover that way if you don't use. Just another approach.

It has been years, but in 2011 FF allowed deletion credits. I wanted GAS-N side pipes, so I deleted the FF side pipes from my order. As said, deletion credit was not very generous at all. Check what the parts you would want to delete would sell for. You might be better off keeping the included parts and the selling them on your own. With the side pipes, definitely what I would do if I were to build another.

Also, make sure you know if they also delete any related parts or entire assembly, for example the mounting bolts and spacers for the shocks. I deleted the side pipes and i think that may have included the side hangers.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and opinions. I've E-mailed Factory five and decided to go with the credit they've offered me for the Koni deletion. Now I've got to order the QA1's.
Thanks again for the help.

Hi Corey

This is the shock / spring rate I went with on my QA1 shocks if interested. Great ride.

* Front = QA1 DD403 Proma Star Double Adjustable coil over shocks with 9" long 300# springs
* Rear = QA1 DS601 Proma Star single Adjustable coil over shocks with 12" long 300# springs

As you can see I went a little stiffer on the rear than the 8" long 250# spring FFR supplies with the Koni shocks but the adjustable shocks help to soften the ride too.

All a matter of personal preference.

Thanks Jim

Definitely appreciate the ideas from everyone who has worked on these cars.

I'm sure I'll be looking for more help and suggestions as I get further along.
