View Full Version : Oil Filter Relocation kit
Has anyone found a better replacement than the supplied kit for small block Ford? I have a small leak but can’t tighten the unit that attaches to the block. The oil lines don’t make it possible.
Thanks

Ditch the relocator and get the Ford Performance 90degree filter adapter.
Can that be positioned at any angle?

Yes. Are you running 4 in 4 headers or J pipes with shorties?

It works like a charm - rotate for whatever clearance is required. No issues after 5K miles…

Thanks all…..sounds like the adapter is the way to go

If you have a SBF and 4-4 headers, you can just screw the filter on the block.

+1 on what Steno said. you probably won't need to relocate if using 4 into 4 headers.

As said, with 4 into 4 headers the filter mounts directly and a remote or angled relocator is not necessary.

Thanks all. Originally I had the j pipe which I suspect was the reason for the kit. I have since replaced the shorty’s with a set from GP headers which sounds like resolved the clearance issue.

Use the 90* adapter anyway, makes changing the filter much easier and less mess. The filter will be vertical and not horizontal, so the dirty oil doesn't run all over when you loosen the filter. JMO

Canton has a nice rotatable remote adapter which is what I used to replace the original that always leaked. Canton Racing Products 22-595.
