Hi all
In order to get a kit car registered here in the UK we have to have certain radius's on the bottom of the dash, as well as a whole host of other things that means the supplied dash is pretty much unusable without putting foam all over it.

With this in mind, I've split the dash into two parts. The top, once covered in leather, will stay once the car is registered and should pass without any issues.
The front panel I have radiused at the bottom and I'm starting to think about switches etc.

But, I was just looking at it and wondered if the angled edges either side are for your legs to swing in and out when sitting down?
As I don't have seats or the body on, at the moment, could someone tell me if I need to think again at the front design?

If you look at pictures of the 6 original Daytonas, the lower corners were all cut at an angle, so that’s what I did with mine. Putting a radius on after doing that wouldn’t be that much of a stretch, would look fine.

Hi George,
thanks for the reply.
My concern with this one is am I still able to get in and out, I think I will be, I don't want to put too much effort into this one as it will only be on the car until it passes the test.
Once passed I will fit another front panel that's as the original layout, etc.
thanks

If the dash does not hang any lower than the FFR one you should be OK. Are you going with a removable steering wheel? if not you should, it really helps getting in and out of the car.

Hi David

I'm afraid they aren't allowed, so not an option, would have been a good idea :)

cheers

Previous gen but it seems like yours hangs a little low on both the driver and passenger side.
