Am I supposed to trim the top of the dash even with the bow or is it supposed to overhang? Thanks in advance.156567156568mu

this is normal. it's covered by the lip of the body.

Not sure if it has changed or not with the MK4, but the dash aluminum was meant to rise above the dash frame slightly with the MK3.1.
Using the vinyl padded dash cover, we used to leave it to stick up slightly above the aluminum, and it was tucked up under the body, when the body was installed..

Now that was before the bodies came with the rolled cockpit edge's, so perhaps that's not done any longer. I understand that to fit the body correctly at the dash area, some of that roll has to be trimmed off, or it will interfere with the fit.

Yes the lip of the cowl needs to be trimmed to get the body to sit far enough forward

I would also take a quick look standing at the rear of the car and make sure the bottom of the dash looks level w.r.t. the 2" horizontal frame member that's a bit below and in front of the dash.

It will go to the top of the hoop in the center and above the hoop on the ends.
