I got the panels done but it was late and I didn't have a chance to take photos, anyway here's the frame:

Nice job and nice color. I wish I would have gone with that color other then the flat black FFR offers. Looks much brighter and cleaner looking and doesn't make the engine bay so dark when you look into it.

Well it's not like you'll see a lot of the frame when everything is hung, but when you look underneath I'm expecting a very different look. Does that matter? Well it does to me, I sold this project by telling my wife I'm not only building a racecar but this is also going to be artwork.

Looks a lot better than the Factory Five powder coat.

Like the color, well done.
Very cool a nice change up from the flat black FFR uses.

When I get out to the garage today I'll post a couple of pics. They are Silver Hammertone though. I'll post and discuss, might be a little dark but man you can beat that hammertone finish though. More to follow.

Very nice job and colour. I noticed you're missing the weld splatter that is included with the FFR powder coat.

Love it.
You see more of the frame than you might think. I think it looks fantastic.

I did some cleaning before taking it up there, smoothed some welds, basically cleaned it up. Artwork man!

Chassis looks awesome, CaptB! I really dig the color! The one thing I found with my own build is that having the frame a different color other than black, well, that then really accentuates all the parts that are black and just brings a really cool perspective and blend. Like with the IRS rear-end or even the sway bars, etc... It just makes all those kind of dull black colored components really standout, instead of getting lost in the black frame and not seeing them too well. I know you'll appreciate that, since I do on mine. Anyway, have a ton-of-fun building your dream! I'll be following along...

Looks great! I plan on powdering mine blue once I get it in March or April. Can I ask what you paid for PC the chassis and Panels? I have been getting quotes all over the place. My ranges for the frame are between $1500 and $3000. I'll be following your build.

Compared to California, that is more than half our price.... I hate this state

I was stationed in San Diego and Oakland during my few tours there. Love the things to do and see. But I'm grateful that I've got no state income tax, low property tax and everything else that Tennessee has even if I don't have all the great ocean and other places to visit. Come on out here, people are friendly and the cost of living is cheap, just keep California, well...in California.

Would you have a name and number of the powder you used that you could share? Looks Great!
Thanks

I lived in Tennessee back in my Army days. Ft. Campbell (border of KY and TN) to be exact. Maybe once my kids have flown the coupe (or the Roadster).

Good choices. Anything but the basic black.

Hey @CaptB, any other pictures of the panels attached to the frame? Would love to see how these colours flow together.
Also, did you drill your panels / frame before powder coating?
With FF powder coating price increase, I am thinking about getting both powder coated as well and am leaning towards the colors you chose :).

Hopefully this helps. I did not drill my panels first.
This is my first build and there are a lot more experienced and smarter folks that have built these cars so I don't have all the answers.
I have seen where people have had a heck of a time working their panels after powder coat but 1st get a really good powder coat on, and take your time. Tape off where you need to and it worked out fine for me (so far).

Looks awesome!! I am going to follow in your footsteps. Ordered mine uncoated since I was going to do a few mods to the frame and wanted it to be silver. Got a quote from a shop here in Phoenix that does quite a few frames for $800.

For those of you modding your frames before powder coat, I suggest adding some steel in front of the seat pan to protect your legs. I added AR500 plate to mine as well as some vertical supports to hold the seat belt bar up between the seat belt slots. I also cut the V shaped tube in the trunk and added the Russ Thompson drop pan kit. Once I finished all the mods and ground off the weld splatter, I got all panels and chassis powder coated a nice Grey with metal flake. The silver looks awesome as well.

The plates were added to help with ricochet's off the road. Knowing how thin the aluminum is, I wanted some more protection. In addition to the plates, I also used 1/4 aluminum diamond plate in the bottom of my footboxes as well. It avoids the risk of a floormat under the gas pedal. Only downfall is that the plate acts like a cheese grader on my driving shoes. Here are the pics that were requested.
