After dealing other DTC codes (as documented here (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?41241-Permanent-DTC-codes)) I thought I was done with all the joys of error codes. Well, I guess I was wrong. I loaded up the tune that Lund provided and took the car out for a go-kart yesterday. After it came up to temperature the MIL came on and I discovered a P0116 (engine coolant temperature circuit range/performance problem) error code. I know that this is a pretty common false positive on the gen 2 coyotes, but before I dismiss it as such is there something I should be checking to make sure I don't have a real problem? I don't see how it can be a real code, as I don't believe there is even an ECT sensor in the coyote system anywhere. The only ECT I see is the one feeding the Speedhut gauge. I'm assuming I can ignore this and ask Lund to tune it out?

Yes, that code was a false positive for several of us with early Gen 2's. Supposedly Ford Performance fixed in later versions of the Gen 2 calibration. As long as there's nothing really wrong, yes it should be tuned out. Lund should know about this. They've dealt with it before. Reference this post that also includes a technical description that might be helpful: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?24441-2015-Coyote-Tune&p=279513&viewfull=1#post279513.
The Coyote doesn't have a water temp sensor. This is something that's known and often discussed. It instead has an ETC (Engine Temp Sensor) in one of the cylinder heads. You can see the data from it if you stream the ODB2 data. The Coyote "infers" the water temp based on the ETC.

Thank you, that's very helpful. That was also my understanding (no ECT, just an ETC sensor) so I'm going to assume that there's no substance to a DTC relating to ECT performance, and nothing to worry about. It does appear that Ford fixed the P0116 false positive, as I never saw it when I was running the stock Ford tune. It was only when I loaded the Lund tune that I saw it, so perhaps the Lund baseline tune I was provided was based on older Ford firmware. Sounds like Lund should be able to sort it out fairly easily for me.
