I am wiring up a portion of my Gen 3 Coyote harness to the RF wiring harness. I have the Coyote/Ford clutch neutral safety switch installed and plugged into the Coyote wire harness. In the RF instructions, they indicate that if you are not using the clutch switch (located on spades with the brake switch) that you should attach the two blue clutch wires to each other and tape. In the FFR Coyote fitment instructions, they seem to indicate that you should clip one wire shorter than the other, not connect them, and wrap/tape them out of the way. Seems to me I should follow the RF instructions and solder them together. Which way is the right way to proceed? Thanks!

follow the instructions from the wiring harness. I'm willing to wager the ECU requires the input of the switch being closed (clutch down) as a requirement to trigger the starter.

That wire is normally dead with a Coyote build. Normally that blue wire goes from the ignition switch to the clutch and then to the starter solenoid. As you said, the Coyote has it's own bottom clutch switch. So the FF supplied clutch switch is not used. Also the Coyote has it's own starter wire. So it's not needed for that either. Personally, I just remove it completely. But it could also be capped and put out of the way somewhere.

There are two blue start wires in the harness off the ignition switch. The one you're asking about. And then another marked LT-BLU-EFI CRANK POWER. That's the one normally used for the Coyote build. Goes directly to the Coyote pigtail Starter Motor Request (SMR) wire.

Not to confuse the issue. But I'm guessing the FF Coyote instructions say to join the blue start wires where the FF supplied clutch switch would normally go because later in the manual they say you can use this wire as a traditional starter motor connection. Or you can use the one in the Coyote harness. That I mentioned in the first paragraph. I know no reason in the world why you would use the RF starter wire to the solenoid versus the one in the Coyote harness. I've never seen or heard of a Coyote build that did. Use the computer controller starter wire out of the Coyote harness and don't look back.
