Good morning all. I have a roadster that is already for paint and body work. I had someone set up for this past January, but due to unforeseen circumstances from COVID, my appointment was delayed. The person was then supposed to take it in the fall (now), but it appears that he has is unable to do my car. I would hate to wait another couple of years to get the body and paint work done. Does anyone know a shop that is knowledgeable with these cars in the Hampton roads (eastern Virginia) area? I feel like I can get anyone to paint it once the body work is done. No matter how good a paint job is, it won't cover up crappy body work, that's why I need someone good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't live in that area but here's a company that has their own show on Motortrend: http://fantomworks.com/

Based on what I see on TV, I think the labor rates are competitive and who knows maybe they'll pick your car to be on TV.

The person that was supposed to do all the work originally lives in Indiana. I'm cool with shipping it to Connecticut.

Another vote for Spotlight Customs in GA. It's not a big deal to ship there. They do so many of our cars, it's called the "Snake Pit." The work is exceptional, he uses the best of materials, and meets his estimated start and finish times. He did mine in 6 weeks, started when he said and it was ready to bring home when he said. No runs, drips, trash, buggers, anywhere, and he finished with a cut and buff for a glass finish. You can't even feel where the stripes are. Carl (BadAsp427) has an enclosed trailer set up just for our cars and often hauls for owners to/from there.

All the more reason to go check him out. From what I saw on TV he's pretty good and reasonable on the cost. He's also military so if you have that background, he may have a discount. It may be worth asking.

Have you considered Whitby in Greensboro? I'd love to check out your build sometime - I'm in Moyock.

I just talked to Mike from Whitby yesterday. He said their list is only 10-12 months.

Wow, that has come down quite a bit. I talked to them in May and that was what he told me then. That's good news
